One more mile

That undying thirst,though I had quenched it for a while;
Why live with little? When there's more out there.
How many more steps do I need to take?,
'One more mile' said an old rock,a milestone you know;
'That bigger view awaits.' He said.
Why climb so far?While you watch them fly.
Pieces of me wanted a whole,
and the footsteps,a trail to be left behind;
I'm drained.
'Just one more mile... you brave,
To fetch your moon,
You burn a little in their sun;
You ain't gonna stop here,
That peak is meant for you;
How high? Don't bother,
Climb the hill, not to get through that last mile;
But may be thousands ahead',said the old one who stood in my way.
But,why thousands more? I wondered,
'The moon has countless lovers,my child' he said.
How do you know?
'It's been just thousands of years and could be a thousand more ',said he with a smile;
That meant ,'One more mile'.
