I see you

I see you taking each step carefully, I see you crying silently, I see you smile through your pain, I see you protecting the ones you love, I see you fighting the battles no one sees, I see you gulping your sorrow though you want to cry. I see the work that wears you down and keeps you steady, I see the small kindnesses you never announce, I see the promises you keep long after others forget, I see the patience in your slow, steady hands. You are not only strength, you are soft truth and steady light, You fear and you fail and you rise again anyway, You carry weight without asking for a medal, You forgive, you hold, you stand when it matters most. Let the quiet in you be honoured, let your hurt be named, It is brave to be gentle, it is brave to admit you need, You are the kind of man who keeps the world from falling... not by being unbreakable, but by choosing to be whole. I see you. -Surabhi S H

What do you call it?

What do you call it when you know it’s not worth the fight? What do you call it when you love a thing that won’t buy you a life? What do you call it when someone loves you and you can’t give it back? Call it patience, small and steady. Call it keeping, doing it for the sake of doing. Call it gentle grief, soft, honest, without noise. Call it courage, leaving with open hands. Call it stubborn hope, blooming though it won’t pay. Call it kindness, returning love with what you can give. No single name fits, just quiet choices: the slow work of staying whole. -Surabhi S H
